Moroccan bank joins Blockchain Ripplenet
Ripple and Moroccan Attijariwafa Bank have signed a partnership agreement. Attiajariwafa Bank, one of Morocco’s biggest banks has joined Blockchain Ripplenet. According to Bourse News this will allow Attiajariwafa Bank customers to instantly receive transfers from the other 200 banks on the Ripple network.
Attijariwafa Bank, with 53.3 billion USD in assets, will utilize Ripplenet ro improve its payments systems and improve its remittance services. This is quite important given the large number of Moroccan diaspora across the globe.
Moroccan Attijariwafa bank Corporate Cash Management Manager, Adnane Driouech states,” Attijariwafa had already been experimenting with a host of modern payment solutions and that its partnership with Ripple has now positioned it as a leader in blockchain payments in the region as well. With RippleNet, we connect to the blockchain, another fast and foolproof way to receive funds.”
Ripple has signed up a considerable number of banks in the GCC and MENA region as well as opening its regional headquarters in UAE. Recently it signed up with Saudi British Bank in KSA as well as Qatar National Bank. In addition Ripple has signed an agreement with Oman Dhafar Bank.
