Binance has appointed Tarik Erk as its new Regional Head for the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey (MENAT), alongside the role of Senior Executive Officer for Abu Dhabi.
The appointment reinforces Binance’s long-term commitment to the region and comes shortly after the company announced that its global operations are now regulated under Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) — marking a new phase in Binance’s regulatory and institutional positioning.
Originally from Buffalo, New York, Erk brings over a decade of experience across regulatory compliance, market expansion, product launches, and government affairs within the digital asset and financial services sectors. His career in digital assets began in 2017 at Paxos in New York, following roles at major financial institutions including JPMorgan Chase and Commerzbank.
Before joining Binance, Erk spent six years at Crypto.com, where he served as General Manager for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), overseeing regional growth and regulated market expansion.

While Erk has not lived in Turkey, he is Turkish by background, and his expanded remit now explicitly includes the Turkish market. The move signals a deliberate alignment between leadership and market focus, as Turkey remains one of the most active digital asset markets globally in terms of adoption, trading activity, and retail participation.
Within Binance, Erk’s appointment represents a significant career step, placing him among a small group of regional heads globally. His role in Abu Dhabi, in particular, situates him at the center of Binance’s engagement with regulators and institutions at a time when compliance and market structure have become defining priorities for the industry.
“I am proud to take on this exciting opportunity at Binance as the company continues to navigate evolving regulatory frameworks and strengthen its presence across the MENAT region,” said Erk. “I look forward to exploring new growth opportunities and helping shape the future of digital finance within the region and beyond.”
Erk has previously been recognized as one of the most influential figures in Singapore’s fintech ecosystem by FinTech Nation, and served as a board member of the Singapore Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Industry Association.
His appointment underscores Binance’s strategic focus on regulatory engagement, institutional trust, and sustainable growth, as MENAT continues to emerge as a key region shaping the next phase of global digital finance.
