UNLOCK Blockchain Forum announced today Emirates Airline as its Official Carrier for the UNLOCK Blockchain forum. The forum, being organized by Al-Iktissad-Wal-Aamal is set to take place from January 14 to 15, 2018 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Dubai International Financial Centre, in Dubai.
The UNLOCK Blockchain Forum will be the first MENA Asia Blockchain Forum to be held in the emirate, bringing together around 400 attendees from across MENA and parts of Asia. The forum aims to gather blockchain experts and industry players to discuss where blockchain can be implemented, how it will disrupt businesses; bring forth the sharing economy; while showcasing Dubai’s achievements in spearheading blockchain implementation and innovation in the region and globally.
Emirates Airline, the world’s largest international airline, will be the “Official Carrier” for the UNLOCK Blockchain Forum. In a recent report by Accenture, it shows that airline industry is one of the best examples for blockchain implementations given the data sharing among multiple actors and touch points during the travel journey. Airlines alone house data in many isolated systems and data exchange is not always smooth. As such blockchain can not only improve operational integrity and revenue generation but also safety and security. Blockchain could thus be applied for ticketing, loyalty programs, security, identity, maintenance and more.
