UNICEF Funding offers Opportunity for Blockchain Startups
The UNICEF Innovation Fund is providing Blockchain Startups with a significant opportunity. It is looking to make $50-90K equity-free investments to provide seed finance to for-profit technology start-ups with the potential to benefit humanity.
Seed funding is intended for prototype testing, validation and to provide a proof that the solution works.
In addition to the seed funding, the UNICEF Innovation Fund provides technical assistance for product and technology development, mentorship to aid in developing business strategies and driving profit, data networks and platforms, as well as expertise and global partnerships.
The Fund is looking for startups that have a working, open source prototype or are willing to make it open-source, and that are showing promising results. More specifically, its investment is targeting a group of companies developing software solutions on open blockchains and using distributed ledger technology in innovative ways that are scalable, and globally applicable. Some examples entail the usage of smart contracts, machine learning, tokens and mining for various purposes.
