IOHK signs MOU with Georgian Ministry of Education
Input Output Hong Kong, better known as IHOK the third-generation R&D firm spearheaded by Charles Hoskinson, Co-founder of Ethereum and creator of Cardano, announced on twitter that they had signed an MOU with the Georgian government.
The agreement signed by both parties will see IOHK collaborating with the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science in order to identify and implement a range of #blockchain-enabled projects. Charles Hoskinson said on Twitter, “First MoU signed with the Minister of Education to explore using Atala and Cardano to build a next generation credential verification system for Georgia and beyond”
A post on Cardano’s forum read, “The Georgian government has identified its university sector – and in particular the work currently underway to ensure comparability with higher-education qualifications across Europe – as one area where IOHK’s expertise will be particularly important.”
This aside, the research and development forum would also be working with the government’s business and education services. This will focus on developing blockchain-enabled solutions with the use of Atala and Cardano. Both parties will be working together to support blockchain and digital asset-based companies to further secure confidential data via the implementation of third-generation blockchain technology and introduce smart contract functionality to the Ministry’s service sections.
Mikheil Batiashvili, Georgia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports stated, “We are still on that journey [from 112th ranking on the Ease of Doing Business index to 6th rank] and are hopeful that leveraging IOHK’s world-leading expertise, particularly in 3rd generation blockchain technology, will help us to progress even further toward our goal of being the world’s leading country for secure, digitally-enabled international businesses.”
