Mohammad Raafi Hossain, CEO and Co-Founder of Fasset, has made significant strides in 2024, cementing his leadership in the fintech and blockchain space.

Hossain led Fasset’s launch in the UAE after securing a fully operational Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license from Dubai’s VARA in 2023, marking a major regulatory achievement. This was followed by an expansion into Malaysia.

A defining moment in Hossain’s 2024 journey was the launch of IOWN, the first Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain focused on RWA ownership, backed by a government regulator. Announced in September, IOWN aims to create 30 million asset owners by 2030 and set a new standard for regulated blockchain ecosystems.

Further strengthening Fasset’s platform, Hossain oversaw a strategic partnership with UAE-based Dinari in July 2024, integrating dShares—tokenized US stock and ETF assets—into Fasset’s exchange, enhancing global investor access to equity markets through blockchain technology.

In addition, Fasset recently secured a license from the Central Bank of Bahrain to offer crypto-asset trading services within the kingdom.
