The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has represented Saudi Arabia at the inaugural meeting of the Science20 (S20) group, an initiative within the G20 focused on utilizing science for global transformation. Hosted in Rio de Janeiro during Brazil's presidency, the gathering convened science academies from G20 nations and international scientific organizations. Discussions centered on artificial intelligence (AI), the bioeconomy, energy transition, health, and social justice. The Saudi delegation showcased the Saudi Arabia's advancements in these domains.
Emphasis was placed on Saudi Arabia's leadership in the data and AI sector, highlighting the establishment of a comprehensive legal framework aligned with global standards to ensure the responsible development and application of AI, aimed at enhancing human capabilities.
Regarding the bioeconomy, the delegation underscored Saudi Arabia's dedication to economic diversification and sustainability, along with substantial investments in this sector to achieve global prominence. This commitment is underpinned by the National Biotechnology Strategy, which prioritizes public health, environmental conservation, food and water security, as well as the promotion of economic opportunities and the localization of promising bio-industries.

Lastly, the delegation reiterated Saudi Arabia's dedication to social justice, emphasizing equality and the creation of fair societies where all members have equal rights and opportunities.
The participation concluded with the Saudi delegation expressing gratitude to Brazil for hosting the successful meeting, aligning with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives for enhancing quality of life and economic diversification.
